The City of Kirkwood, in partnership with Trailnet, will be hosting an in person and virtual community bike ride on June 5, 2021 and August 22, 2021 at 10am. We invite members of the Kirkwood community to join us to explore the rich history and architecture of Kirkwood with this community bike ride. Riders will visit local landmarks and dive into the city’s place in history on this guided tour.
From the 1850s to today, the Historic Kirkwood Community Ride will let you learn about the city from experts and connect with other riders as you explore the community. This guided group bike ride takes place on city streets, at a slow pace for people of all comfort levels. Trailnet staff will be present leading the ride and are equipped to assist with mechanical issues. Additional details, Registration information, ride start time, bike route and other reminders are listed below.
As always, bicycle riders on public roads have the same rights and responsibilities as motorists, and are subject to the same rules and regulations. Bicycle riders should also ride as near to the right side of the roadway as safe, exercising due care and utilizing hands or arms to signal turns. We ask drivers to look carefully for bicyclists before turning left or right, merging into bicycle lanes and opening doors next to moving traffic.
